Tony Gwynn Jr. threw a perfect ceremonial first pitch for the Padres on his dad's bobblehead night
The impossibly gifted Tony Gwynn would have turned 58 on Wednesday night -- and with the Padres back home at Petco Park this week, they paid tribute with a stadium giveaway of Gwynn bobbleheads for Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Cardinals.
Gwynn's birthday, coupled with the Padres' scheduled celebration of the NL pennant-winning 1998 club this homestand, provided the perfect context for a return visit from Tony Gwynn Jr.
