To show support for the team, bleached hair has become a Puerto Rican phenomenon

(Clair, Michael)

If you're in Puerto Rico and you have a hair appointment today, you may want to cancel it. Puerto Rico's amazing success in the World Baseball Classic mixed with the team's bleached blonde locks has led to a hair dye shortage in the country. Hopefully, they'll all be able to acquire the look before the team takes on the United States at 9 p.m. ET on MLB Network and MLB.tv.
Inspired by Carlos Correa's frosted tips and Carlos Beltrán's bleached beard, fans throughout the country have taken to dying their own hair with a cheer of "Team Rubio!" or "Team blonde!"

It's like the '90s all over again.
As Myrna Rios, a manager at a Sally Beauty Supply store in San Juan noted, "Ever since they began winning, this has not stopped. We have run out of the product in most of our stores."
That's led to some fans traveling to multiple outlets trying to find some dye so they can match their on-field heroes.
Should Puerto Rico win its first title after finishing as runners-up in 2013, this bleached hair trend may just continue a little while longer.
