The best NBA referee to never officiate a pro game is Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt
A's Stephe Vogt is the best NBA ref you've never seen
When they're not blazing a trail to the postseason by becoming the first team to reach 70 wins in 2014, the Athletics are busy having more fun that the rest of us. Whether they're channeling their inner Sexy Sax Man or impersonating professional wrestlers, it's obvious that these guys know how to have a good time.
Wednesday's episode of MLB Network's Intentional Talk was no exception. Hosts Chris Rose and Kevin Millar were chatting with the newly-acquired Jonny Gomes when catcher Stephen Vogt crashed the party wearing some zebra stripes. With Rose, Gomes and Millar egging him on, Vogt spent a solid five minutes impersonating NBA referees, offering his interpretation of the rules (tight) and his animated hand signals while getting a little whistle-happy.
He demonstrated the "Dueling Technicals":
The "And 1":
And, obviously, the "Emphatic Charge":
Eat your heart out, Dick Bavetta.
