Watch Taylor Motter celebrate Coastal Carolina's first-ever College World Series win
When you think of college baseball powerhouses, you think of Rice. Vanderbilt. Miami. Coastal Carolina? Not so much.
Time to rethink that as the teal-colored mid-major school just won their first-ever College World Series after topping Arizona, 4-3, on Thursday. While both schools weren't expected to make it this far, Coastal Carolina was already playing in its fifth elimination game since the start of the NCAA tournament.
But thanks to help from Fiki the monkey ...
A giant home run ...

And a massive strikeout with runners at second and third with two out, CCU's celebration was on.

That included the Rays' Taylor Motter. The former Coastal Carolina standout, who hit 18 home runs across three seasons with the Chanticleers, was warming up at Tropicana Field when it all went down.

As for that teal shirt -- yeah, it's a Coastal Carolina top. Motter also made sure to send along his congrats to the team:
Hey @CoastalBaseball, @taylormotter7 has something to tell you: Congrats, #CollegeWorldSeries champs! pic.twitter.com/quPpI0F9Jc

Of course, while the Rays' tweet was techincally accurate about Motter being the only Chanticleer on an active roster, the Cubs' Tommy La Stella also came out of the school, but is currently on the DL. While Jake Arrieta already lost a bet to La Stella when their two colleges faced off against each other, we're guessing that his upcoming Chanticleers tattoo might be a little larger now.
