Masahiro Tanaka's split-finger was in fine form as he dominated the Astros in ALCS Game 5

The Yankees have stormed back from a 2-0 deficit in the American League Championship Series presented by Camping World to take a 3-2 lead -- beating the Astros, 5-0, on Wednesday night. 
While some of the credit belongs to the Yankees bats -- especially as Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez have rediscovered their strokes -- the pitching deserves plenty of plaudits, too. Perhaps no one looked sharper than Masahiro Tanaka and his magical splitter. 
It broke sharply toward the ground, leaving Brian McCann whiffing at air: 

He sent the ball zooming away from the plate and Josh Reddick could only oblige with a whiff: 

Tanaka even knew the best way to reach the viral-hungry youth audiences: He turned Yuli Gurriel into a spinning top with great hair. 

Tanaka finished with seven shutout innings, striking out eight and giving up only three hits. The Yankees will look to close out the series when it returns to Houston. Tune in to Game 6 on Friday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
