T.J. Rivera made a sweet leaping grab and shovel pass on this grounder off the first-base bag
The name
In our 2017 reality, we have the actual Rivera playing first base for the Mets as they defeated the Giants, 6-1, on Tuesday night. Sure enough, though, this Rivera can still produce the highlight-reel goods.
In the top of the ninth,
"Oh my goodness. I was watching it the whole way," Rivera told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo after the game. "I couldn't tell if it was going to be fair or foul and I wasn't even thinking about the base. I just kind of reacted. Yeah, I got up there a little bit."
<o:p>Of course, Rivera wasn't content to just play defense. He collected three hits and raised his OPS on the season to .888.
All that's left to complete the action-hero look: Aviator shades.
