Steven Matz wanted to hit so badly he tried to bat five spots earlier than he was supposed to

After already notching a single in the second inning of the Mets' eventual 6-4 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday, Steven Matz raced off the mound after the top of the fifth -- ready to hit again. He grabbed a bat and started to take some practice cuts in the on-deck circle, perhaps envisioning more than just a single, perhaps thinking of something more. 
But, unfortunately, Matz was not up. It was the cleanup hitter's turn at bat and the Mets pitcher was in the nine spot. 

Still, you have to appreciate the energy. You'd also want to hit every chance you could get knowing this guy is cheering you on every game at the stadium/from his living room.
