Stephen Piscotty's tumble into the stands was the A's second adventure with Red Sox fans in three games

One of the benefits of a small ballpark such as Fenway Park is its intimacy -- the close-knit stands, passionate fans and atmosphere help create that whole "baseball cathedral" aesthetic.
The A's found that out firsthand this week on a few occasions, the last coming in Wednesday's 6-4 loss. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Stephen Piscotty tracked a fly ball down the right-field line. He caught it in fair territory, but his momentum carried him up and over the stands ... and right into a throng of Red Sox fans.

It was originally ruled that Piscotty had not caught the ball -- but he knew he had, and expressed as much while standing among various shocked Boston fans.
The scene was a bit odd ... and you'd be forgiven if you saw this on the fly and got the impression he was just a regular, adult fan shouting about something from the stands:

After a replay review, it was determined that he had, in fact, made the catch to end the inning.
Take note of where Piscotty crashed into the stands, and compare it to this moment involving Mark Canha earlier in the series:

That's a high-traffic area, for sure.
It was another eventful night for Piscotty, who honored his late mother by hitting an emotional homer in his first at-bat after returning from the bereavement list on Tuesday night.
