Imagining the letters teams sent to convince Shohei Ohtani to sign with them
With the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes about to kick into high gear, it was reported on Saturday that his agent asked all the Major League teams for "written explanations" pleading their case. He's also asking teams to:
"identify his strengths and weaknesses as both a pitcher and a hitter, as well as descriptions of many factors including teams' player development and medical training systems, their facilities at the Major and Minor League levels and why their organization would be one that would make Ohtani feel comfortable."
Thanks to our extensive connections in the baseball world, we've managed to obtain a few letters that big league GMs wrote to the star.*
