Gold-medal gymnast Shawn Johnson threw out the first pitch for the Cubs and then got engaged
Shawn Johnson gets engaged after throwing first pitch
Shawn Johnson is Mike Trout-levels of accomplished. At the age of 23, she has won: An Olympic gold medal, three Olympic silver medals and one season of "Dancing with the Stars" (she appeared on another All-Stars season, in which she placed second). That's a lot of stuff to tell the hypothetical grandkids about before the age of 25.
And on Friday, she added one to the list: Throwing out the first pitch at Wrigley Field with fellow Olympic gymnast Alicia Sacramone.
How could one possibly compare a first pitch to an Olympic gold medal? Because it's Wrigley, duh! But also because she got engaged right after:
Her boyfriend-now-fiancé (she said yes, in case you were wondering), Kansas City Chiefs player Andrew East, popped the question while they were still on the field. Probably because he was so impressed with Johnson's walking handstand that he couldn't not propose:
Four Olympic medals, and now a first pitch engagement at Wrigley Field. Even Mike Trout is jealous.
Congrats to @ShawnJohnson and @AndrewDEast on their engagement! pic.twitter.com/7AWIAq3Wj9
