MLB has Seinfeld reunion as Phelps, Buhner hang out
Remember when the Yankees traded Jay Buhner for Ken Phelps? The, in hindsight, lopsided transaction was immortalized on the immensely popular '90s sitcom Seinfeld.
In the 1996 Seinfeld episode "The Caddy," George Steinbrenner goes to visit George Costanza's parents to erroneously inform them that their son was dead. Hilariously, Frank Costanza -- George's father, played by Jerry Stiller -- can only respond to the news of his son's death by ripping into Steinbrenner for trading Buhner.
Nearly two decades later, Frank's head would spin around like the Exorcist if he were on Twitter and saw that Buhner and Ken Phelps were hanging out at Mariners Spring Training in Arizona.
