The pierogi -- yes, pierogi -- is the latest food to get the MiLB uniform treatment
In the list of famous foods, it goes 1) Pizza 2) Tacos 3) Ice cream. So, it was definitely cool when the Fresno Grizzlies became the Fresno Tacos for a night, but not all that surprising -- who wouldn't want to be a taco?
But what of the humble pierogi? The pierogi, certainly, does not get the adulation the taco gets. According to Google, it's not even close. Thankfully, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are here to take a stand for these delicious potato-filled dumplings. They will be the Pierogies.

On Aug. 26, the Triple-A affiliate of the Yankees will become the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Pierogies. And you can, too:
May all unheralded foods feel, even if just once, heralded. For one night, the pierogi will be as big as the taco. Let's just hope a wrestling match doesn't break out -- they don't do so well in those:
