Listen to Russell Martin smash a car with this Spring Training home run
If hitting a car with a Spring Training home run is the new black, then call Russell Martin Johnny Cash. Martin and his fellow Blue Jays were taking batting practice in Dunedin, Fla., on Sunday when Martin turned his cage session into a demolition derby:
"Watch out, car!" @russellmartin55 did some damage in the parking lot. #ItAllStartsHerehttps://t.co/gMgQGm5U9w
— Toronto Blue Jays (@BlueJays) February 28, 2016
KIDS SEATS ARE STILL JUST FIVE BUCKS!
Perhaps the best part (besides the totally gratifying sound it made) was that reigning AL MVP Josh Donaldson totally called it:
Martin gets a hold of one during BP. "Look out cars," Donaldson yells. Second later, big thud as car gets smashed over LF wall. #BlueJays

My advice to anyone visiting #BlueJays spring training -- do not park your car behind LF wall. #TargetPractice

With that monstrous dinger, Martin becomes (at least) the third MLB player to smash an automobile with a homer this Spring. He was preceded by Boomstick himself, Nelson Cruz, and Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber , who's already done it twice.

Hey @safelite can you help this guy out? pic.twitter.com/xvGMgZP0nM

#Cubs Schwarber didn't break any windshields today but one of his BP homers left a good dent in roof of BMW

As if all of this wasn't entertaining enough, the Cubs are turning the windshield that Schwarber smashed into a modern art masterpiece, preserving it in glass and auctioning it off for a charitable cause.
