There was a Royals fan dressed as a giant bird with a praying mantis on his head at Kauffman Stadium

The Royals are all-in on their Rally Mantis. They care for it, give it the affection a growing mantis needs, and they are rewarded: The team has lost only twice since the discovery of Rally Mantis Jr. So, thankful for its magical win-inducing powers, Royals fans seem to be all-in on the Rally Mantis, too.
Even the Royals fans dressed like giant birds:

Yes, this Royals fan came to the ballpark for Tuesday night's game against the Yankees not only in full avian cosplay, but also with a very large praying mantis affixed to his cap.
He is one Victor Redtail (bird name, not human name), who has been a fixture at Kauffman Stadium since 2014 -- when, you may recall, the Royals made the postseason for the first time in nearly three decades. Victor says he wears the costume because it, like the Rally Mantis, brings the team good luck:

And so, despite the fact that birds are natural enemies of mantises, Mr. Redtail has put his predatory instincts aside and joined forces with the all-powerful Rally Mantis.
Or maybe he was just saving it as a snack for later.
