Brandon Phillips hit a ball not once, but TWICE on one swing of the bat

Most hitters, if they're lucky, hit the ball once with a swing of a baseball bat. It's just the way it works. It's basic physics.
Well, Brandon Phillips either skipped physics class or couldn't care less about being normal. He wanted a single very badly in the seventh inning of Tuesday's Reds-Indians game. So badly, that he hit the baseball TWICE:

And now, with broadcaster confirmation:

The ball, probably confused, didn't know what to do -- squibbling away awkwardly under Francisco Lindor's usually magnificent glove for a base hit. Unfortunately, even after pulling off a brilliant feat such as this, the Reds lost, 13-1.
Maybe try for three next time, Brandon?
