Kevin Pillar used the ultra-rare double fakeout to avoid the tag on this amazing slide

Blessed with great speed and outrageous game vision, Kevin Pillar has made it his personal mission to track down the most uncatchable of balls in center field. He does it well enough that he could probably start a TV series called "Uncatchable" about a center fielder-turned-bounty-hunter in the Florida Bayou.
Of course, those same skills proved quite useful on the basepaths when he went from the one making snags to the one being snagged. During the Blue Jays' 4-1 victory over the Astros on Thursday night, Pillar found himself standing on second when a pitch in the dirt got away from Houston's Evan Gattis for a moment. Pillar took off and looked dead to rights as the ball beat him to third by a few seconds.
But -- after the commercial break, if this was in "Uncatchable," natch -- Pillar found his escape route. Using the extremely rare double fakeout, Pillar pulled his hand toward the bag and away from it, then toward the bag until, at the very last moment, he swung it around Alex Bregman's glove and leg to get to the bag safely.

It was such an unexpected move -- and one that would be equally useful while spinning vinyl -- that third-base umpire Bill Miller first called him out. While every player who is ever called out believes he's safe, Pillar was even more insistent. He knew he was safe. The man, who catches the uncatchable, was certain that this time he was not caught. Or something.

After the call was overturned, Devon Travis' single drove Pillar in to extend the Blue Jays' lead, so the slide proved quite vital indeed.
