Photo of the Day: Bill de Blasio proves he's a shrewd baseball fan

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is a shrewd baseball fan.
How do I know? When visiting Spring Training in Florida with his wife Chirlane McCray on Thursday, he attended the Mets-Red Sox Grapefruit League matchup. As the mayor is a lifelong Boston fan who adopted the Mets during their National League pennant run last season, no matter which team won, de Blasio would've left pleased.
The Red Sox ended up winning, 4-1 -- but again, de Blasio might not have minded had the score been reversed. And it's a power move to attend MLB games where you could reasonably claim to have been rooting for the winning team regardless of outcome.
Although it's possible that his company in the stands betrayed de Blasio's true loyalties just a bit:

(That's Red Sox owner John Henry sitting next to the mayor.)
