Phillies prospect Cam Perkins moonlights as a barista in the offseason

Major League Baseball players are known for being exactly that: incredible athletes who make their living playing baseball at the highest professional level in the world. Their offseasons tend to consist of exotic vacations, time with their families, and rigorous workouts to prepare for the next year. Minor Leaguers, on the other hand, often take up non-baseball jobs in addition to their other offseason activities. For a few months, some of the world's best baseball players maintain a double life as they inhabit everyday jobs across America. Phillies outfield prospect Cam Perkins is no exception.
The 25-year-old Purdue product is in the midst of a solid season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, posting a .784 OPS while adjusting to spending the bulk of his playing time at a new position: center field. However, when the baseball season comes to a close, Perkins puts on a different uniform. That of a barista at a local Madison, Wis., coffee shop. We asked him about the quirks of being a pro ballplayer doubling as a coffee-making extraordinaire -- which you can see in the video up top.
