No. 1 overall pick Mickey Moniak graduated from high school in a Phillies cap

Last week, the Phillies made California high school outfielder Mickey Moniak the No. 1 pick in this year's MLB Draft. Soon, he'll sign his first professional contract -- slot value: a little over $9 million -- and report to a Philly Minor League affiliate to begin his road to the Major Leagues.
... right after he finishes high school, that is. Sure, Moniak might be a future face of the franchise, but first things first: On Sunday, Moniak officially graduated from La Costa Canyon High School. And while his friends might have talked about where they were heading to college or that big cross-country road trip, Moniak made sure everyone knew that he had some big summer plans:

Education, America and the Phillies. Clearly he's got his priorities in order.
