New Mexico State posted the fourth-largest blowout in NCAA history this weekend
Last Friday night, New Mexico State and Mississippi Valley State met for the first game of a three-game set in Las Cruces, N.M. Things got ... out of hand:

Your eyes do not deceive you: The Aggies really did win by a score of 39-0. Somehow that isn't even the widest margin of victory in college baseball history -- that record belongs to Nebraska, which beat Chicago State 50-3 back in 1999 -- but it's jaw-dropping nonetheless. As with any lopsided blowout, there are a few very fun facts:
- The Aggies batted .556 (!) on the night.
- They tallied twice as many extra-base hits (10) as MVSU had total hits (5).
- NMSU DH Noah Haupt won the Gaudy Line of the Night Award, going 6-for-7 with 10 RBIs -- including the final two runs of the night:

Behold, the pitching lines:
It wasn't pretty, but still, props to MVSU for sticking it out for 24 outs. Thankfully, in baseball, there's always tomorrow.
