Yes, today is National Roller Coaster Day -- a day to celebrate everyone's favorite amusement park attraction (well, everyone except for Billy Hamilton ). And while you might not think that coasters have much of anything to do with baseball, the Double-A Altoona Curve are here to prove you wrong. Say hello to Skyliner:

Originally built at Rosemont Park in New York, Skyliner moved to Lakemont Park in Altoona after Rosemont closed in 1985. The wooden coaster now sits just beyond the right-field wall at PNG Field, where it's a prime spot to catch the Pirates affiliate in action -- and hey, maybe even catch a home run:

Skyliner is even painted with the Curve's logo and colors, with "Go Curve" running along the side. Alas, the coaster's dips and drops didn't give the Curve their name: That comes from the Horseshoe Curve, a stretch of railroad that cuts through the nearby Allegheny Mountains.
