Mike Trout does Mike Trout things, robs first batter of Spring Training with a sprawling catch
It took less than an inning for Mike Trout to start doing Mike Trout things at Spring Training for the Angels as the superstar outfielder picked up right where he left off last season.
The Angels were hosting the Athletics for their first game of Cactus League play on Thursday when A's outfielder Billy Burns lined the second pitch of the game into left-center field, only to have his hit erased by one of Trout's impressive sprawling catches:
But baseball isn't all about defense, so Trout doubled-down on his fast start by singling in his first at-bat later in the first.
Escobar, Calhoun and Trout have all singled to start the spring.
