Max Scherzer celebrated his NL Cy Young Award win with a champagne shower
Max Scherzer, 2013 AL Cy Young Award winner, was up for the 2016 NL version on Wednesday night. Would he win in a different league? Would he beat out the Cubs' two-headed monster of Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks? Could he become the 18th multiple Cy Young winner in baseball history? Yes, he could:
And he deserved it. Scherzer was once again one of the best pitchers in baseball -- leading the NL in wins (20), games started (34), innings pitched (228 1/3), strikeouts (284) and WHIP (0.97). He made hitters look silly:
He grimaced like a true ace:
He celebrated his teammates' accomplishments in true Mad Max form:
Scherzer isn't just the 18th hurler to win the Cy Young multiple times, he's also one of only six pitchers to win in both leagues:

Oh, and he also had that little game where he struck out 20 batters this season -- joining Kerry Wood, Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson in baseball immortality. So, yeah, we'll just leave you with that:
