Marlins third-round pick Tristan Pompey predicted which team would draft him ... six years ago

Thousands of young baseball players dream of eventually making it to the big leagues. While Tristan Pompey was likely one of these young ballplayers too, an old tweet revealed that he really just wanted to make it to a big league ballpark one day -- and he had a very specific one in mind:

Fast forward six years, and we find Pompey as a junior outfielder at the University of Kentucky and one of the top prospects for the 2018 MLB Draft. Sure enough, Pompey was selected by the Marlins in the third round, making his six-year-old tweet look like some serious crystal-ball magic. Pompey was reminded of his old tweet and was amused:

Here are some other highlights from the world of baseball and social media from the last week:
Pompey wasn't the only one tweeting about the MLB Draft. Pirates pitcher Steven Brault was especially excited about some of the names Pittsburgh selected in the early rounds:

Brewers outfielder Brett Phillips wanted to give the 2018 draftees some insight into what comes next:

Rays pitcher Jacob Faria tried to imagine what the front offices were going through during the Draft:

Indians Minor League pitcher Kieran Lovegrove couldn't believe what his mother chose to prioritize in her tweet about his latest outing:

The infamous midges made a shocking return to Cleveland this week. The original victim of the midge crisis -- former big leaguer Joba Chamberlain -- offered his best advice for how to deal with the unusual pests:

Indians Minor League infielder Ernie Clement is not known for his power. He only hit four home runs in his three years at the University of Virginia, and entered Wednesday without a single professional dinger.
When he finally hit one in the fourth inning of the Lake County Captains' game against the Dayton Dragons, Clement didn't even want to take credit for it. It was all about the weather:
