Lorenzo Cain hit a double into the gap ... of the left-field fence
When someone says that a player has doubles power or a knack for hitting the ball into the gaps, it is often seen as a bit of a backhanded compliment. Doubles power, after all, isn't home run power and an ability to hit the ball into the gaps -- if it actually is an ability at all -- is certainly inferior to hitting the ball over the wall.

It's possible Cain wasn't even able to see that gap in the fence from the batter's box, but he found it anyway. Maybe it was because of some sort of gap-seeking sixth sense or just plain old luck, but either way, it was an impressive feat to behold. It's a shame it was just a double, because it was worth so much more in our hearts.
