Gloves came off in the Indians-Braves game, literally, thanks to two determined line drives
Monday's contest between the Indians and Braves at Turner Field, won by the red-hot Indians, 8-3, was bookended by two odd circumstances that you probably wouldn't expect to see happen in the same game.
The Tribe shot out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a Mike Napoli single that knocked the glove off Braves starter John Gant as it headed for the outfield. Eight innings later, the Braves returned the favor when Jace Peterson's hopper forcibly removed Joba Chamberlain's glove on its way to Jason Kipnis (who made a slick play for the out, as seen above). Combined, it was a one-two punch of weirdness:
