Lewis Brinson threw a perfect 94.1-mph strike from center field to get Chris Owings at the plate

The D-backs edged the Marlins, 2-1, on Wednesday night at Marlins Park, but had it not been for a tremendous defensive play by center fielder Lewis Brinson, the game could have gotten out of hand early.
Facing Wei-Yin Chen in the top of the fifth, the D-backs quickly put a rally together thanks to a leadoff double from Ketel Marte and a sharply-hit single by Chris Owings. Deven Marrero was next up, and he laced a hit toward Brinson in center. Marte scored and Owings rounded third, hoping for a second run.
Brinson responded with an absolute strike home:

Owings had no chance: Catcher Bryan Holaday had the ball in plenty of time. It would've been a good strike on the radar gun, too, at 94.1 mph.
His pitcher was grateful for the assist. "That play was huge," Chen said to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro through his interpreter. "I allowed a run there and that could have been a huge turning point in the game. He threw out the runner at home and that helped me settle down so I only allowed one run in that inning and kept us in the game."
The throw was also key because the D-backs were about to turn over their lineup with only opposing starter Robbie Ray in the way. Outs were precious. "We were right there at the top of their order, too," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "They were getting ready to roll through the top. That gets us an out there. That was huge."
Praise from the skipper is worth a dance.
