Bryant's Cubs are taking on the Nationals in Game 4 of the NLDS presented by T-Mobile as the Cubs look to defend their title and further pad Bryant's résumé. But while baseball fans have grown awfully familiar with Bryant being on the big stage, it hasn't been all that long since Bryant was starring for Bonanza High School in Las Vegas.

"Kris Bryant, shortstop." No surprise there. We've seen the athletic Bryant play center field at the big league level, and as is customary with high school teams, the best player plays shortstop no matter what. It's also remarkable how little his swing has changed since his high school days.
But the real takeaway from this outstanding clip is Bryant's revelation that if baseball didn't work out, he would want to be a dentist. It's safe to say baseball did work out, but Bryant does seem to still know a thing or two about pearly whites:
Perfect smile aside, Bryant's potential career in dentistry was also considered promising by his high school teachers who referred to him as "one of the best students they'd ever taught." This was exemplified by Bryant finishing with the second-highest GPA in his graduating class, earning him salutatorian.
As good as Bryant was in the classroom, his senior year on the field was even better: He hit .412/.551/.960 with 8 home runs. The Blue Jays drafted Bryant in the 18th round of the 2010 Draft, but he chose to attend the University of San Diego instead. Three years later, Bryant was selected second overall by the Cubs in the 2013 Draft, and the rest is history.
