This pitch was called a balk, but Kolten Wong decided to still crush it for a two-run homer

In the fourth inning of the Cardinals' 12-5 loss to the Brewers on Thursday, a balk was called on Milwaukee starter Junior Guerra right as he was delivering a pitch to Kolten Wong. This would be a good thing for St. Louis -- as the runner at first, Jhonny Peralta, could move up a base into scoring position and have a good chance at scoring on a base hit. Well, that sequence never came to fruition, as Wong decided to just swing the bat and send Peralta all the way home with a two-run home run over the right-field fence:

Yes, if a pitcher delivers a ball after he's called for a balk, the ball is still live. Until somebody like Kolten Wong makes it dead again.
