Kid hiccups through the national anthem before ABL game for most adorable rendition possible

Kid hiccups through singing the national anthem

The national anthem is usually a time for singers to show off some vocal chord flair while paying patriotic respect. I've heard the anthem turned into four minute solos and versions where it's more of a spoken word slam poetry piece.

But they all pale in comparison to 7-year-old Ethan Hall's version. In fact, every song ever written pales pales in comparison to Hall's anthem (yes, that includes Olivia Newton John's "Physical").

Singing the Australian anthem before the Adelaide Bite took on the Brisbane Bandits in the Australian Baseball League on Friday night, he was struck with a case of the hiccups at the very worst time.

Or, once you listen to the song, you may realize that the hiccups are actually a wonderful percussive counterpoint to the song's melody. Maybe all singers should begin hiccuping before singing.

The song is now also a great alternate soundtrack to the Fizzy Lifting drink scene from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Try it, you'll see.
