Kevin Kiermaier added to his resume with a full-extension leaping catch
In Sunday's Spring Training game with the Blue Jays, Kiermaier showed just how ready he is for the regular season with this vintage display that robbed
That takes maximum effort and full extension to even come close to spearing a liner like that -- but it's no big deal for Kiermaier, who's definitely in midseason form already.
Said Kiermaier after the game to MLB.com's Bill Chastain:
"We were shading my boy Jake Elmore to right-center field. He was hitting in the three hole today and he was pretty much telling me to respect me more today. He hit it well. Just got a good bead on it. The wind was blowing, so it was one of those things where I have to go 100 percent back there instead of drifting. I went hard and timed my leap perfectly and I was just happy to see the ball go in my glove. After not doing that for five or six months, it feels good to do that once again and get some oohs and ahhs from the crowd."
