Kevin Gausman celebrated his birthday by playing catch on top of a mountain

Everyone has had the experience of wanting to celebrate their birthday in an original and unique way, but coming to the unavoidable realization that, given the sheer number of birthdays that have been celebrated, such a goal is nearly impossible to achieve. So, deterred by the weight of history, we all -- inevitably -- default to the tried and true: dinner with the family, a pizza party and laser tag or a night out with some friends.
But, while everyone else is doing the same old thing, Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman celebrated his birthday by playing catch on top of a mountain. We'll assume it was birthday cheer that kept Gausman warm in just a t-shirt:

What Gausman's game of catch also proves is that there is no offseason, not even on one's birthday.
