Kevin Durant got an assist from Willie Mays before his first pitch at the Giants game
The Bay Area has a robust sports scene, and on Friday night the Giants welcomed its newest star, Kevin Durant, to AT&T Park before their 8-2 win over the Cardinals.
Durant, who joined the Golden State Warriors in hopes of making a championship run in the upcoming season, sported a Giants cap for his ceremonial first pitch, seen atop this post.
But it was a moment before his pitch that warrants a second look -- especially when MLB royalty, Willie Mays, gave KD a bit of a pep-talk about what to expect on the mound:

It's the first assist of many Durant will no doubt receive this season in the Bay.
