Brewers prospect Keston Hiura once ran into Kobe Bryant and even tried to introduce himself
All Keston Hiura has done since being selected by the Brewers in the first round of the 2017 MLB Draft is hit. He's already made it up to Double-A Biloxi only a year after being drafted, and owns a career Minor League slash line of .329/.388/.536 in 124 games. It won't be long before we see Hiura ripping line drives all over the field in Milwaukee. Now the No. 1-ranked prospect in the Brewers' system, Hiura represented Team USA in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday.
Hiura played college baseball at the University of California-Irvine and was always a big Lakers fan having been born in nearby Valencia, Calif. As expected, Kobe Bryant was practically royalty in and around L.A. as Hiura was growing up. So when Hiura had an unexpected encounter with the 18-time All-Star in a Newport Beach parking lot, he had no idea what to do.
