Kendrys Morales went deep on his birthday for the fourth time in his career

If you ever question the efficacy of birthday wishes, just look to Blue Jays slugger Kendrys Morales. After turning 35 and, presumably, blowing out the candles on his birthday cake and/or birthday protein shake, Morales used his barehanded swing to go deep against Braves starter Aníbal Sánchez on Wednesday afternoon. Not a bad birthday present to oneself.

"I was trying to be aggressive, birthday or not," Morales said through an interpreter after the Blue Jays' 5-4 victory. "And thank God everything went well today."
"I was trying to make some adjustments early in the season. I made a little too much and I just went back to the basics. I took off the glasses and just went back to the way it was before. It has just been going better since then."
This isn't the first time Morales has homered on his birthday, though. He smashed a birthday blast against Jeff Weaver in 2009:

Another followed in 2012 off Shane Loux:

Bruce Bochy blew a sad bubble for Morales:

And he hit his third in 2015:

The slugger now has four birthday blasts, which puts him only two behind Alex Rodriguez for the all-time birthday record. However, you may have noticed something here: Morales hits one every three seasons. Just as a person with a birthday on Feb. 29 gets a birthday every four years, does this mean that Morales is only 12 1/3 years old?
