Justin Verlander got stuck in traffic on purpose

Tigers players usually spend the third weekend in August trying to avoid the traffic of the Woodward Dream Cruise. Justin Verlander, an avid car collector, apparently took a drive right in the middle of it.

Verlander tweeted a video from Instagram from what looks like his orange Lamborghini driving down Woodward Avenue and looking at the classic cars in the cruising lane.

Verlander has a mix of modern sports cars and classic cars, a collection that reached nine this spring with the addition of the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster he ordered a couple years ago. He has been looking for a classic American muscle car.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is an August tradition in the suburbs north of Detroit. Hundreds of thousands people gather as classic car enthusiasts come in to drive their prized vehicles down Woodward, honoring a tradition that goes back to the 1950s and 1960s. The Dream Cruise runs through the suburbs of Birmingham and Royal Oak, where several players stay during the season.
