Justin Verlander is just a little bit obsessed with the No. 3

Justin Verlander, the Astros' starter for Game 1 of the ALCS on Saturday, is one of the best pitchers of his or, really, any generation. He has 204 wins, 2,706 strikeouts, seven All-Star appearances, a Rookie of the Year Award, an AL Cy Young and an AL MVP trophy. He had a slight dip in success in his early 30s, but has somehow arrived back in his prime in his mid-30s. How does he do it? By getting pushed up a hill by his wife Kate Upton? No, he actually does it by doing everything in his life in threes.
Strikeouts, time and, most importantly, bathroom stall selection -- the secret to being a future Hall of Fame baseball player.
