Jose Ramirez visited his home in the Dominican Republic for some #NoOffseason training

Jose Ramirez enjoyed a breakout year with the Indians in 2017, setting career bests in just about every offensive category en route to an All-Star selection, a Silver Slugger Award at third base and a third-place finish in American League MVP voting.
This offseason, MLB.com followed him to the Dominican Republic for an extended #NoOffseason profile. As you can see in the video above, even though he was visiting family and friends at home -- complete with plenty of games of pool -- his training didn't miss a beat.
He worked on his swing by hitting a giant rubber tire:

He even paid it forward a little bit by teaching some local kids how to hit using a juice box:

Of course, he also had to check in with his grandmother, who provided an honest reflection of how she remembered a young Ramirez:

After hitting 29 dingers in 2017, Ramirez has likely put to rest his grandmother's concerns about his stature. At only 25 years old, and with an offseason full of hitting giant tractor tires, Ramirez looks ready to build on his success in 2018.
