Jose Lobaton doesn't always hit homers in October, but when he does, he makes them count

After a tough 4-3 loss in Game 1 of their NLDS against the Dodgers on Friday, the Nationals were in desperate need of a win in Game 2 on Sunday afternoon. But there was a problem: Dodgers starter Rich Hill was dominant early on, dropping nasty curveballs and picture-perfect bunts. And after another Corey Seager moonshot, Washington found itself in a 2-0 hole and staring at two elimination games in L.A. Things looked grim.
And then Jose Lobaton happened:

Lobaton's three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth flipped the game on its head, propelling the Nats to a 5-2 win that evened the series. It was even deemed worthy of the Bryce Harper Ceremonial Helmet Removal:

But this wasn't the first time Lobaton had electrified October with a dinger. Sure, he may have just 17 homers in his seven-year career, and his homer on Sunday was just his second ever in the postseason. His first, though? It was kind of a big deal:

Back in the 2013 ALDS, the Rays were facing elimination at home in Game 3, and headed to the ninth with the game tied at 4. That's when Lobaton took Koji Uehara deep into the ray tank at Tropicana Field, pushing Tampa Bay to one more game.
The evidence is pretty clear, then: If you need a clutch postseason homer or some revolutionary eyewear, Jose Lobaton is your man.
