Joe Mauer met a baby who was named after him
Joe Mauer met a baby named Mauer

Prior to the Twins' game against the Rays at Tropicana Field on Tuesday, Joe Mauer met a baby. A baby named Mauer. A baby named after him, Joe Mauer.
Mauer's parents and Jennifer and Matt Titus -- Matt hails from North Dakota, where he was a diehard Twins fan, and Jenn used to work up north, before taking a job as a news reporter in Florida. The couple decided to name their child after the Twins' six-time All-Star and former American League MVP -- choosing "Mauer" over "Joe" because they were looking for a unique name -- and not one of Joe's former teammates. Though "Punto Titus" does have a certain ring to it.
As his mother says, Mauer is one lucky 4-month-old. ... Wait a minute. You know what Joe was doing four months ago? Debuting his new beard.
I bet there are hundreds of children whose names were inspired by that beard -- if not thousands.
