Attention '90s kids: Joc Pederson's new walk-up song is the 'Fresh Prince' theme
Who is the Millennial baseball player of your dreams, and why is it Joc Pederson?
Because he's walking up to the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song this year, that's why.
Pederson -- who's previously walked up to Yung Joc's "It's Goin Down" (see what he did there?), and, for a hot second, Hanson's Millennial anthem, "Mmmbop" -- stepped up to the plate for his first Dodger Stadium plate appearance of 2016 during the Freeway Series exhibition against the Angels on Friday, and he did so with Will Smith's iconic hit blaring throughout the ballpark.
MLB.com's Earl Bloom spoke with Pederson about his new entrance music:
"I like it," Pederson said Saturday of the Fresh Prince theme. "If I hit, it will stay."
As if pitching to a guy with Pederson's special combination of power and patience wasn't already tough enough, now opposing pitchers are going to have to do it while mumbling the rest of the catchiest theme song ever to themselves out on the mound.
Though, we guess that's probably a little easier than trying hit off a guy who's doing the Carlton dance:
