Now that's a crossover: JJ Redick and Luke Walton toss first pitches for Angels and Dodgers

Both the Dodgers and Angels played home games on Saturday night, with the Dodgers losing, 4-2, to the D-backs and the Angels besting the Red Sox, 5-2.

In a fitting coincidence, both games featured ceremonial first pitches from local basketball figures: Clippers shooting guard JJ Redick put on some Halos gear and threw a pitch to Mike Trout -- a pitch, by the way, that skipped on the ground and forced Trout to make a nice glove save.

(Fun anecdote: According to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez, known autograph hunter and Angels left-hander Héctor Santiago brought a basketball to the stadium, hoping to get Redick's signature for his collection).
After it was all said and done, Redick posted a series of photos on Instagram from his day at Angel Stadium, with an amusing reference to his pitch encounter:

Over at Chavez Ravine, Luke Walton -- onetime Laker, son of Bill and the team's new head coach -- put on some Dodger Blue and threw his own ceremonial first pitch. This one seemed to land without incident, however.
