Jered Weaver showed up with a truck full of shoes for his high school's basketball team
With high school basketball season getting underway, players across the country are lacing up and breaking in their new shoes in time for the first game of the season.
Things are no different at Simi Valley High School outside of Los Angeles ... except they're getting their shoes from former All-Star pitcher and Simi Valley alum Jered Weaver. On Tuesday, Weaver and his son, Aden, showed up with a truck-bed full of fresh kicks for the team:

In retirement, Weaver has suggested that he wanted to help out with his high school's basketball team. Making sure the team has fresh kicks for the 2018-19 season is definitely a way to make an impact.
