Jackie Bradley Jr. avoided an out at the plate with a spectacular slide

A good slide can really do wonders to get a baserunner out of a messy situation. A well-executed swim move or improbable leap over a defensive player is all one needs to turn a sure out into a safe call. 
Jackie Bradley Jr. found himself caught in a rundown during the fourth inning of Thursday's Yankees-Red Sox game. Usually, those end with an out. Usually, the player caught in the rundown doesn't have the sliding and reaching ability of JBJ:

Bradley's perfectly-calibrated reaching slide gave the Red Sox their first run in what would become an eight-run -- inning. And, it was all thanks to a well-placed fingertip.
