Third baseman J.D. Davis, picked up by the Mets, also throws in the low-90s and has a 13.5K/9 rate

J.D. Davis, Houston's third-round pick in the 2014 Draft, is an infielder who's logged 45 games at third base and 15 games at first base so far in his MLB career, but he's also more than that.
Davis, who was also a closer for Cal State Fullerton in his college days, can pitch, and in a way that helps him stand out from his position-players-pitching peers.

All told, Davis has notched four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of work out of the bullpen, good for a 13.5 K/9 rate. That's elite. So many times, you see position players take the hill and lob floaters up to the plate, but not Davis.
Might Mickey Callaway and the Mets utilize Davis' pitching abilities in New York? We'll see ... but at the very least, should he make the Major League roster, he'd give the coaching staff an easy option should they look for someone to help out while on the wrong side of a blowout.
