Rest in peace Grumpy Cat, author of the angriest first pitch in baseball history
The world woke up to some very sad news on Friday morning: Grumpy Cat, perennial sourpuss and beloved meme, had passed away at the age of 7.

Ever since her photo popped up on Reddit way back in 2012, she delighted us all via unamused memes, a truly dizzying array of merchandise and even her very own feature film. And as she took over the rest of American pop culture, so too did she take over our national pastime: In 2015, she paid a visit to Chase Field to throw out the first pitch before a D-backs game.
Of course, Grumpy Cat only knows one way of being in the world, and that day was certainly no different. She was grumpy about meeting manager Chip Hale:

She was grumpy about her (presumably unsatisfactory) uniform:
She was, for some reason, super grumpy about taking a photo with Tony La Russa.

And yet, despite being extremely over it, Grumpy Cat did what she always did: She persevered. Sure, she didn't actually throw out the first pitch -- she's a cat -- but she did just sort of hang out and watch:
We just hope that she's found somewhere to scowl in peace.
