Inspirational high school catcher Luke Terry announced the Braves' pick of Carter Stewart
When it was the Braves' turn Monday night to make their pick at the No. 8 spot in the MLB Draft, there was obviously anticipation about who they would select.
But, before that, came perhaps the best moment of the night as high school catcher Luke Terry stepped up to the podium to announce the team's selection of right-handed pitcher Carter Stewart of Eau Gallie (Fla.) High School.
Terry had his right arm amputated when he was 19 months old, but that hasn't stopped him from playing high school baseball. As evidenced by his announcing of the team's selection, Terry is a huge Braves fan and cites former No. 1 Draft pick Dansby Swanson as his favorite player.
If all goes well, maybe Stewart will be his new favorite player a couple years down the line.
