A college softball game was interrupted by a goose who refused to leave the outfield
In the middle of their game on Wednesday, the University of Illinois and Illinois State softball teams experienced a brief delay -- specifically, a goose delay:

Having found itself a very nice piece of grass and not really seeing what all the fuss was about, the goose steadfastly refused to leave. Even after the batter -- batting helmet on and bat in hand, because safety first -- got involved:
You've heard of an injury timeout, but tonight the #Illini had a goose timeout during tonight's win over ISU! https://t.co/OgM1yDyJp3

Maybe it was having a softball repeatedly rolled at it. Maybe it was a stray piece of bread under a park bench. Whatever the case, the goose eventually decided that it was time to fly away, and the Illini eventually won the game, 5-3.
