Mariners All-Star closer Edwin Diaz is ecstatic about LeBron James signing with the Lakers
It was no surprise to see Mariners closer Edwin Diaz make the AL All-Star team after his historic first half for Seattle. He struck out 79 batters in 48 innings while converting 36 of 39 save opportunities.
But when he's not throwing 100-mph fastballs to opposing hitters, Diaz loves watching basketball, especially the Los Angeles Lakers. When asked last month if he thought his favorite team had a chance to sign then-free agent LeBron James, Diaz was confident:

It wasn't long before Diaz was rewarded with the good news: LeBron would indeed be wearing purple and gold next season.
