Which mashup team is better: ALCS or NLCS?

Given the quality of the teams involved in each League Championship Series, the Fall Classic already looks like it will be chock full of talent. The Astros, Red Sox, Dodgers and Brewers all have plenty of All-Stars to go around, but what would happen if the two teams in each league decided to put away their LCS squabbles and combine, Voltron-style, for two absolutely loaded rosters?
We smushed the two teams together, selected the best from each league at every position and came up with the results.
Catcher:Martín Maldonado (HOU) vs. Yasmani Grandal (LAD)

The one clear-cut answer in this bunch. Neither the Red Sox nor Astros boast strong catching units, so the slugging Grandal gets the nod.

First Base:Steve Pearce (BOS) vs. Max Muncy (LAD)
A year ago, no one could have envisioned that Pearce or Muncy would be the best first baseman on any LCS roster. The script has been flipped in 2018, and Muncy's 35 bombs lead the way.
Edge: National League.
Second Base:José Altuve (HOU) vs. Enrique Hernández (LAD)

Did Altuve replicate his MVP season from 2017? No. Is Altuve still among the elite second basemen of this generation? Absolutely. As great as Hernandez was in 2018, Altuve remains incredible.
Edge: American League.
Shortstop:Xander Bogaerts (BOS) vs. Manny Machado (LAD)
For years, Bogaerts vs. Machado was a fun debate among AL East fans. Machado is out west now, but the head-to-head has returned. Bogaerts had an excellent 2018 that put him back on the map, but so did Machado -- and his peak is still remarkably high.
Edge: National League.
Third Base: Alex Bregman (HOU) vs. Justin Turner (LAD)
The margin between Turner and Bregman is razor-thin. Both players topped a .920 OPS in 2018, and Turner has the advantage of having done so in 2017 as well. However, Turner missed nearly 60 games this season and Bregman remained healthy with incredible defense.
Could we really say no?

Left Field:Andrew Benintendi (BOS) vs. Joc Pederson (LAD)
It's impressive to notch a 20-homer season in your early twenties. Benintendi and Pederson can each make that claim. Pederson had a slightly higher OPS in 2018 with an .843 to Benintendi's .830, but Benintendi had a much higher WAR at 3.9 to Pederson's 2.3. We'll give it to Super Benintendo.
Edge: American League.
Center Field:George Springer (HOU) vs. Lorenzo Cain (MIL)
Can we just make this a battle of smiles?

Good point. Springer, rebuttal?

Also good. It's a push on smiles, so Cain gets the nod by virtue of his standout defense and 6.9 WAR.
Edge: National League.
Right Field: Mookie Betts (BOS) vs. Christian Yelich (MIL)
This is a battle of MVP favorites with even greater talent than the hot corner showdown between Bregman and Turner. It's a win-win. Both are fantastic! No one was hotter late in the season than Yelich, but Betts was dominant all year long. Also, Yelich probably isn't as good a bowler.

Edge: American League.
Designated Hitter: J.D. Martinez (BOS) vs. Jesús Aguilar (MIL) 
If the Brew Crew makes the World Series, then Aguilar would slot nicely into the DH spot, especially since he falls behind Muncy at first on this squad. That being said, it's almost impossible for a DH to have a better season than what we just saw from Martinez, who didn't miss a Triple Crown by much.
Edge: American League.
Bench
Brian McCann (C, HOU); Tyler White (1B, HOU); Carlos Correa (SS, HOU); Brock Holt (UTIL, BOS); Jackie Bradley Jr. (OF, BOS)
vs.
Manny Piña (C, MIL); Cody Bellinger (UTIL, LAD); Travis Shaw (INF, MIL); Chris Taylor (UTIL, LAD); Yasiel Puig (OF, LAD)
Several of the players on these benches would be batting in the middle of the order for most teams. Bellinger set a new NL record for homers by a rookie, then followed it up with 25 in 2018. Shaw hit 32 and played all around the infield in Milwaukee. Neither could make the cut for this team's lineup, but they still help give the NL a superior bench.

Starting rotation
Justin Verlander (HOU); Chris Sale (BOS); Gerrit Cole (HOU); Charlie Morton (HOU)
vs.
Clayton Kershaw (LAD); Hyun-Jin Ryu (LAD); Walker Buehler (LAD); Jhoulys Chacín (MIL)
With all due respect to Kershaw's crew, that AL rotation is simply unfair. Verlander, Sale and Cole might all finish in the top five for the AL Cy Young Award, and Morton is an All-Star himself at the back of the four-man rotation (and also closed out Game 7 of the 2017 World Series).
Edge: American League.
Bullpen
Craig Kimbrel (BOS); Lance McCullers Jr. (HOU); Collin McHugh (HOU); Roberto Osuna (HOU); Tony Sipp (HOU); Ryan Pressly (HOU); Rick Porcello (BOS)
vs.
Kenley Jansen (LAD); Jeremy Jeffress (MIL); Josh Hader (MIL); Corey Knebel (MIL); Pedro Báez (LAD); Corbin Burnes (MIL); Rich Hill (LAD)
Although that AL bullpen would undoubtedly make hitters' knees shake, the Brewers' relievers have helped Milwaukee go almost unbeaten over the last three weeks without much work from their rotation. Adding Jansen and Baez (not to mention Hill's nasty curve) just makes that relief corps unreal.
